Dr. Snyder

Robert Snyder, O.D.

Dr. Robert Snyder (Dr. Rob) is a second-generation Optometric Physician who combines decades of clinical experience with a modern patient-centered approach to eye care, With deep roots in the community and a passion for solving complex vision challenges, Dr. Rob is known for delivering thoughtful, personalized care to all his patients.

Dr. Snyder earned his undergraduate degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University before graduating from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1979. After graduation, he joined his father Dr. Richard Snyder, and his wife Dr. Lauren Scharf-Snyder continuing a family legacy in eye care that spans more than 80 years. What began as Snyder Eye Group has evolved into Amico Eye Group , while maintaining the same commitment to clinical excellence , integrity and trust.

Dr. Snyder is a member of the New Society of Optometric Physicians and the American Optometric Association. His professional interests include contact lenses, ocular disease, and difficult or complex vision problems. He is certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease and stays current with the latest advancements in eye care.

Outside the office, Dr. Rob enjoys playing pickleball, bike riding and spending time with his two grandchildren Royce and Goldie.


Dr. Amico

Ashley Amico, O.D.

Dr. Ashley Amico believes that great eye care starts with listening. Every patient’s vision needs are unique, and Dr. Amico is passionate about providing personalized care that helps patients see clearly, protect their eye health, and feel confident about their vision. She offers a full range of services including adult and pediatric comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, as well as the diagnosis and management of eye diseases.

Dr. Amico is local to the area and graduated from Southern Regional. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Rutgers University before receiving a Doctor of Optometry degree from Salus University. During training, Dr. Amico completed clinical rotations focusing on primary eye care, ocular disease management, pediatric vision care, and contact lenses. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Salus University. Dr Amico is a member of the American Optometric Association and the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians.

Patients appreciate her compassionate approach and attention to detail. Whether it’s a routine eye exam, finding the perfect pair of contact lenses, or managing conditions such as dry eye, glaucoma, or macular degeneration, Dr. Amico takes the time to explain each step and ensure patients feel comfortable and informed.
Outside the office she enjoys spending time with family, staying active, and participating in community events.

Dr. ParrottaDaniel Parrotta, O.D.

Dr. Daniel Parrotta was born and raised in Pequannock, New Jersey. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Stockton University. He received his doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in Davie, Florida. He graduated from NSU College of Optometry with honor’s distinction.

His clinical training was focused on the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease. He completed an extended clinical rotation in pediatrics and binocular vision disorders, specifically focusing on the developmental process and vision therapy training.

After graduation, Dr. Parrotta became a member of the American Optometric Association and the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians. Dr. Parrotta focus is on family care for all ages while providing the highest standard of care in optometry.

On his time off, Dr. Parrotta enjoys all outdoor activities including surfing, fishing, triathlons, and traveling.


Dr. Lauren SnyderLauren Scharf-Snyder, O.D.
(Retired)

Dr. Lauren Scharf-Snyder was instrumental in helping to build the tradition of patient care at Snyder Eye Group, now known as Amico-Snyder Eye Group. Although she is now retired from patient care, we proudly honor her many years of dedication to our patients, our community, and the growth of the practice.

Dr. Scharf-Snyder completed her undergraduate studies at William Smith College before earning her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. After graduating, she and her husband Dr. Robert Snyder joined her father-in- law Dr. Richard Snyder, helping to grow Snyder Eye Group into the 81 year old trusted family practice it is today.

Known to generations of patients simply as “Dr. Lauren,” she devoted her career in Pediatric optometry to helping children succeed in school. She worked closely with families, teachers and many local schools, serving as a consultant and helping to identify learning –related visual problems that could affect reading and classroom performance. Over the course of her career, she helped thousands of children develop the visual skills that they needed to succeed in school and life.

Dr. Scharf-Snyder is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. She also served on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians for six years and was President of the New Jersey Academy of Optometry.

Today, Dr. Lauren is enjoying retirement. She loves to travel, enjoys winters in Florida, and especially treasures time with her grandchildren, Royce and Goldie.
