Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Snyder Eye Group the leading provider of vision care products and services in Ship Bottom and Tuckerton.


Robert Snyder, O.D.

Dr. Snyder is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and is a member of the American Optometric Association and the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians. He is also the past president of the Atlantic-Cape May Optometric Society.

Since Graduation, Dr. Snyder has been involved in private practice with a special emphasis on contact lenses and difficult vision problems. He is board-certified in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Diseases and was the author of “All About Contact Lenses” in the publication Bottom Line Personal.

Dr. Snyder is the father of two children, Yale and Mackenzie, and is an avid tennis player and reader.


Lauren Scharf-Snyder, O.D.

Dr. Scharf-Snyder is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and is certified in Vision of The School-aged Child by the Gesell Institute of Human Development. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. She is board certified in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Diseases. She was on the Board of Directors of the N.J.O.A. for six years and was President of the NJ Academy of Optometry from 1996 to 1997.

Dr. Scharf-Snyder received the New Jersey Optometric Association’s Distinguished Service Award in 1994 and Communications Award in 1998 for designing optometric software. She is a child study tear consultant and focuses her practice on pediatric, developmental, and perceptual vision disorders.

Dr. Scharf-Snyder is an avid reader, theatre goer, and mother.
